Releasing the power of the Body of Christ

"Organizations are obstacles to organizing ourselves.
In truth, there is no gap between what we are, what we do, and what we are becoming. Organizations - political or labor, fascist or anarchist - always begin by separating, particularly, these aspects of existence. It is then easy for them to present their idiotic formalism as the sole remedy to this separation. To organize is not to five a structure to weakness. It is above all to form bonds - bonds that are by no means neutral - terrible bonds. The degree or organization is measured by intensity of sharing - material and spiritual.' In the same way, pastoring could be seen as organizing the body of Christ to release its life-power for the benefit of the world. Those who fail to organize the church fail the task of releasing the power of the body of Christ. And in another but very important sense, to pastor a church is not to control its members and limit them inside the church building, not to manage the life of the body of Christ so that they walk properly and behave properly according to the mental ideals of the clergy, but to release that power which is Christ in His body, to organize that life energy so that it would lite the world up, and give life into the dying and dark world.
