活在多元的帝國之中,其實只有一種忠誠的可能—那就是對帝王的無條件順服。當巴比倫城九成的磚頭都印著尼布甲尼撒的名字,大家意識到想像力是沒可能的。
當今世上衆文明人生活在資本主義市場經濟的強大帝國中,所謂多元都只不過是資本市場的變種而已。但這似乎就是我們唯一的現實。我們所有人都被放在世貿之中,都靠互聯網找生活,都掏全球化的聖水,都看廸士尼長大,我們要問:要堅持甚麼?要如何下去?
但以理在一個極權國家中走近帝王的身邊,知道了王者的秘密,洩取了天機。這種處境這種工作的靈性意義如何被理解?

Daniel is one of my favourite "figures" in the OT. Reading his story is like reading one of Louis Cha's novels. Daniel is a true hero, not just because God has prepared his way and opened doors for him, but because he has the true courage to face the uncertainty, dream what others did not dare to dream, and see what the others could not see.
well, thank you for your comment. lately, i heard a sermon on daniel, the exile background could not be stressed more and it offers a key to understand his story.
