Nouwen is one of my favorite spiritual director, writer and meditation teacher. He is so transparent and takes himself seriously before his Lord. Though his writing is not always bright and shinny, the kind of honesty actually shed light in our hearts that I often get encouraged and asked myself,
'May be I can be as transparent as he is because his God is so acceptance that I want to take Him as mine.'
